Bio : I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. My parents are from Cochabamba, Bolivia. My father has been a member of BAMS for over 20 years. I became a member of BAMS after I graduated from medical school in 2007 and became president in 2013.
My aspiration to become a physician was motivated by my desire to help those in need. Also, I wanted to become a positive force in one’s life.
I attended highschool at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL. I went on to complete my undergraduate degree in History at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After completing medical school at Ross University, an international medical school, I served as an intern at the University of Illinois. Thereafter, I completed my residency in Family Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, in Somerville, New Jersey. After completing a fellowship in Family Medicine Obstetrics at Medicos Para La Familia in Memphis, Tennessee, I decided to move back to my hometown, Chicago, IL. I work as a Family Medicine physician in Chicago, in addition to working in Telemedicine and as a Hospitalist physician. I live in Chicago with my beautiful wife and our two kids.
