Welcome to the official website of the Bolivian American Medical Society. I am proud to serve as president of this great organization. BAMS, as we are often called, was founded over 35 years ago in Chicago, IL. The primary goal of BAMS is to provide and/or assist in humanitarian efforts in Bolivia. Also, we strive to improve the education of medical students through donations, courses, and medical conventions. I am happy to report that our mission has not changed and we remain as committed as ever to our "llajta."
BAMS was founded by physicians. BAMS has now opened its membership to all medical professionals, including, but not limited to Chiropractors, Physician Assistants, Dentists, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, PhD’s, and Pharmacists. As before, students, residents, and fellows in the US, Bolivia, and abroad are welcome to join. Non-medical professionals are also welcome to join. Spouses of members are welcome to join the BAMS Auxiliary, which will assist BAMS in its mission to promote health and education in Bolivia.
Please take a moment to peruse our site and join and/or donate to our organization. Thank you
